Sorry for the long absence! I guess we have been too busy doing and haven't left time for reflecting...
here are some of the things we've been doing:
- We finished reading the 2nd book in the "Diary of a Whimpy Kid" series, Rodrick Rules and have moved on to the book "Hatchet." Reading continues to be one of our favorite times of the week!
- Students have been excitedly working on creative writing stories! During mini lessons, we have been working on descriptive writing, metaphores, grammer, and editing.
- School Around Us General Store is up and running in the loft. Mainly used during math, it is a great place to practice real life skills around money, measurement, budgeting, estimating, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division! Stop by sometime and check it out!
- Our physics unit was great the science fair was a big hit! We are now studying history. Connor, Xander, Emma, Fiona, and Nick are studying the time of the Renaissance with many of the younger groupers. Noah is studying the 1900's with older and younger group kids.
- Every Friday we are out on the mountain skiing and snowboard!
- Tinsville is still going strong! We are looking for donations of blocks if anyone has some...
